BioTrans® AG has been developing and marketing a system for the economical and environmentally responsible disposal of food
waste and preparation residues since its foundation in 2006. The BioMaster® input station converts food waste – including
frying oil, coffee grounds and fats – into a homogeneous biomass. Within a closed system, this biomass is pumped to the BioTank,
from where it is regularly transported to a biogas plant for further processing and energy recovery. This innovative approach
enables sustainable energy generation from food waste.
A BioTrans® system essentially consists of one or more feed-in stations (BioMaster® units) and one or more permanently installed BioTanks. METAGRO’s technicians played a key role in the hygienic design of the enclosure. Detailed 3D design work supported the development phase and allowed the customer solution to be visualised and optimised at an early stage. The precise workmanship of the stainless-steel enclosure also contributes significantly to the overall success of the BioTrans® system.
