Blog

From April 2025, a new chapter begins at METAGRO: Gerlinde Tröstl-Katinger takes over as CEO, succeeding Wolfgang Schindlecker,
who is retiring after more than four decades with the company. For METAGRO, this transition represents not only a change in
leadership but also a deliberate step towards continued, forward-looking development.
Proven leadership meets new perspectives
Gerlinde Tröstl-Katinger is well known within the industry. From 2008 to 2012, she headed the finance department at METAGRO and, as an authorised signatory, maintained close relationships with customers and industry partners. She brings not only deep industry expertise but also an impressive professional track record.
Most recently, she served for more than a decade as Managing Director of Markas GmbH, a leading provider of facility services. During this time, she significantly strengthened the company’s market position and nearly tripled its annual turnover to around €100 million.
For Gerlinde Tröstl-Katinger, returning to METAGRO is not only a professional step but also a personal one. In her new role as CEO, she returns to her home region to lead a company she already knows well and whose potential she intends to further develop.
Focus on future-oriented development
“It is an honour for me to succeed Wolfgang Schindlecker,” emphasises Gerlinde Tröstl-Katinger.
“My goal is to continue METAGRO’s successful path while positioning the company strongly for the future – with a focus on digitalisation, further development of our product portfolio and investment in new technologies. At the same time, METAGRO will remain a strong employer with a deep sense of responsibility towards its employees and the region.”
A word of thanks to Wolfgang Schindlecker
METAGRO Edelstahltechnik AG would like to express its sincere thanks to Wolfgang Schindlecker for his outstanding commitment and his significant contribution to the company’s success. With this leadership transition, METAGRO bids farewell at the operational level to a personality who has shaped the company for decades with great dedication, vision and entrepreneurial spirit.
He will, however, remain closely connected to the company as co-owner and member of the supervisory board – a strong sign of continuity and confidence in the future.
