METAGRO receives the 2025 Apprentice Training Award

On 26 February, the Lower Austrian Economic Chamber (WKNÖ) once again honoured companies that demonstrate outstanding commitment
to apprenticeship training. We were not only nominated among the finalists but ultimately received the 2025 Apprentice Training
Award in the Industry category – an achievement we are extremely proud of.
Apprentices form the foundation of our future success – a principle we have lived by since the early days of our company. Since 1975, we have continuously trained apprentices at our Hainfeld site for 50 years, guiding around 90 young people in the field of metal engineering on their path to becoming skilled professionals.
Many of them have remained with the company: around 40 former apprentices still work at METAGRO today, serving as skilled workers, design engineers or team leaders. Having this commitment recognised by the WKNÖ and being named a winner in the Industry category is therefore a great honour for us.
“We are encouraged here, we take on responsibility and our opinions are valued,” say Manuel and Anna-Lena about their daily apprenticeship experience. Alongside professional training, we strengthen team spirit through activities such as skiing trips, bowling events and joint company visits. We also offer financial incentives for strong performance. In addition, we actively support programmes such as “Apprenticeship with Matura” and international internships.
About the Apprentice Training Award
With the Apprentice Training Award, the Lower Austrian Economic Chamber honours the top apprenticeship training companies in Lower Austria across all seven sectors each year.
Companies are nominated based on quantitative criteria such as results in final apprenticeship examinations and continuous apprenticeship training over at least ten years. In addition, a multi-member jury evaluates qualitative aspects that distinguish a company as an outstanding training provider.
